We got some unseasonably nice weather here today. Clear blue skies and about 72° outside. This meant I got some time in my shop to move projects forward.
The project focus today was the Marblewood upgrade amp. When last mentioned the chassis was still just four pieces of wood. Today, I managed to complete the penetrations in the front and back, the final internal shaping, and get the entire chassis into glue up. I think it’s going to look really nice.
This will sit in clamps for about 24 hours to make sure that everything is firmly set. I still have to make some decisions about the round over around the openings. I’m thinking about something a little sharper like I did for the Source Selection Preamp. Then it will be time for some final sanding and finishing. As soon as the chassis comes out of the clamps I’ll make final measurements for the metal and cut and fit the blanks. Then I’ll start the final metal work.
This project really seems to have taken off. I should have some more news soon.
As always, questions and comments are welcome.
