Between regular chores, gardening, and yard work today I managed to steal a little time to make some progress on the latest project. The gain stages for the source selector unit are essentially complete and I’ll begin working on the buffers as soon as I can.
After yesterday’s redesign effort, it feels good to make a little physical progress. Here’s what things look like this afternoon.
The gain stages on the left most 12AU7 socket are entirely wired in. All that’s left is the interstage coupling capacitors going to the buffers. Those will get inserted after the buffers are fully wired.
I’m doing things in a different order on this project. Normally I start with the power supply and then move to the signal circuits. This time, the signal circuits are happening first. I’ll wire up the power supply last on this circuit. This is so that if I want to test the signal stages I can do so with my bench supply without the power supply filters getting in the way.
As always, questions and comments are welcome.
